Horton Commercial Refrigeration was started by Jack Horton, Sr. in 1964. Mr. Horton, an electrical engineer, saw a need for sales and service of commercial ice makers. He established a business in Greenville, Texas, and was soon in demand across Northeast Texas.

His son, Jack Horton, Jr., joined him in the business in 1980. His skill in the installation of refrigeration systems helped to develop the company's reputation for reliable and efficient installation as competitive prices.

Rita Abbott is our Office Manager/Bookkeeper and assists the President. Rita worked for ABA Consulting for 5 years before moving to Greenville. Before that she worked 9 years as Executive Secretary in the corporate offices of Sally Beauty Company in Denton. She is skilled in all aspects of running business offices with emphasis on Customer Service in every position she has held. She handles the A/P, A/R, Payroll and the Installation Jobs for Horton. She is back-up for the Service Department when needed. Rita is a great asset to our company and is always eager to help whenever she can. Call her with any questions that you may have in regards to your account.

Gail Rust is our Bookkeeper.

Our Senior Service Technician is Roger McCracken. Roger relocated to the Greenville area from Azle, Texas, and has over 28 years experience in commercial refrigeration. Roger’s extensive experience ranges from large grocery store rack systems to small under counter food service refrigeration systems and all types of ice makers; this makes him an asset to Horton Commercial Refrigeration, Inc. Roger attends several ice-makers training classes throughout the year to stay current on all the various changers going on with the new technologies in ice-making equipment.

James Kuhn is our Lead Supervisor.  James has been with Horton for 20 years.  His expertise is in walk-in and refrigeration installation.  He is the perfect match with Horton with his attention to detail and his perfectionism. James doesn't leave till it's perfect. The installation of Walk-ins cooler and freezers is one of the most important aspects of Horton’s business.  James’ personality and dedication keeps Horton’s return visits to our customers to almost 0.  We will continue to grow with our Lead Supervisor and those who work with James in the field.  We are happy to have one of the best in the industry working with us.
